INTERACTIVE INSTALLATIO ‘MGNT’
at STRP BIENNIAL ‘17

Summary

MGNT was designed in honour of the 60 year anniversary of conception of electronic music. As part of the open call, it won the first STRP ACT Award during STRP Biennial ‘17.
MGNT is a large immersive audiovisual experience to celebrate and emulate the origin of electronic music. It celebrates the first experiments with, and creation of electronic soundscapes via recording of sound and manipulating magnetic tape.

As part of the experience, the visitors act as the magnetic forces in the installation, manipulating the soundscape and the visuals of the installation with their sounds and movement in space.

Resulting in a playful eyecatcher at the festival that raised awareness and attention to this powerful story and the all but forgotten heritage of electronic music in Eindhoven.
